VAST 2007 Symposium

Several data visualization paperswere presented at the VAST 2007 symposium. Of interest were Automatic Information Extraction for Geo-temporal Visualization and Stories in GeoTime.

Enterprise Friendly Facebook Functionality

Jon Udell recently blogged about Enterprise Friendly facebook functionality as discussed by BEA's Shane Pearson. Interesting capability especially with the open social network API's being delivered by Google.

Andrew McAfee also wrote on the same topic. The challenge will be on how to move the emerging social platforms into the Enterprise framework and enable the information discovery within the enterprise.
